What got you interested in rugby and why did you join the Crusaders?

I had been interested in trying rugby for years. The Crusaders was the first team that I had watched play a game, and after watching their first tournament in 2012, I started going to practice the following week.

What position(s) do you play?

I have started and played full games as loosehead prop, hooker, lock, flanker, 8-man, scrumhalf, and fullback. I identify as an 8-man.

How long have you played rugby?

4 years

What do you do for a living?

I stare at spreadsheets all day, and investigate and solve story problems.

What’s a fun fact about you?

I wake up at 4:00 am most days, not because I have to, but because I want to. I use this time to drink a lot of coffee, play video games, and answer questionnaires.

What’s your favorite thing about rugby?

Scrumming is fun. I'm sure the backs hate the games where we just seem to scrum all day, but I love it.

If you are going to Bingham, what are you most excited about?

I'm really excited to see former Crusaders that have left town and joined other IGR teams.

Overall, how has rugby affected your life?

In high school, at my final water polo game, I remember thinking that I wouldn't ever have that sense of belonging to a team again. Many years later, I joined the Crusaders and was happy to prove my younger self wrong. It is great to be a part of this team.
