MARCH RUGBY MATCHES CANCELLED DUE TO CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19)

ST. LOUIS (March 13, 2020) — Given the recent health crisis, all March matches are cancelled in compliance with Mid-America Rugby Football Union. USA Rugby has not officially cancelled the rugby season, but left the decision on best practices to regional stakeholders.

“We support the decision made by our union to suspend play for the month of March,” said Daniel Fanning, Communications Director. “USA Rugby has laid out additional guidelines for all clubs to follow, and we’ll look to implement those along with any instructions from the CDC and local government. As of now, we’ll resume regular matches starting in April unless otherwise instructed.”

The current precautions from USA Rugby are to limit rugby events and gatherings to under 200 individuals and refrain from interstate travel for competitions. The executive committee of the team continues to watch the ever-changing developments of the situation and plans to comply with any instructions passed down from any of the governing bodies. Any decisions about April matches or tournaments the team either plans to attend or host will be made at a later date.

Edit: USA Rugby announced today all sanctioned play and rugby activities shall cease immediately until April 12, 2020. We continue to monitor the situation and plan to make decisions about the rest of our games at a later date.
