ST. LOUIS CRUSADERS ANNOUNCE CALL FOR BOARD OF DIRECTORS APPLICANTS

ST. LOUIS (July 24, 2019) — The St. Louis Crusaders men’s rugby team is accepting applications for its volunteer Board of Directors. The organization seeks candidates committed to its mission of promoting equality and diversity in sports through participation in competitive rugby at the local, national, and international levels.

“This rugby club is the only International Gay Rugby team in the seven states that make up our union,” said Robert Fischer, executive committee president. “As we continue to grow, we believe a strong Board of Directors is a key element in our development. We would love to eventually bring large-scale tournaments to the St. Louis area and start to allocate resources to help other states develop IGR teams.”

Applications must be submitted by July 30, 2019, at 5 p.m. Central time. The Crusaders are looking for candidates that can advise the president on business development, with an emphasis on fiscal responsibility and managing sustainable growth. Additionally, the team seeks applicants with the following skills: recruitment, business & strategic planning, fundraising, and team-level and event sponsorship marketing.

Phone interviews will be held from August 1-7, after which a director will be elected by a two-thirds majority vote of the club. All interested candidates can read the full position description here and fill out the application that follows. For any questions, email president@crusadersrfc.org.
