What got you interested in rugby and why did you join the Crusaders?
I've played contact sports since elementary school, so rugby is something I always wanted to try. When I met someone handing out flyers for the team at Pride in 2011, I knew immediately it was something I wanted to do.
What position(s) do you play?
I typically play scrumhalf, but I have played every position except prop.
How long have you played rugby?
It will be five years in June.
What do you do for a living?
I am the political director for a campaign to legalize medical marijuana in Missouri.
What’s a fun fact about you?
I once qualified for the Jeopardy! contestant pool.
What’s your favorite thing about rugby?
I love the chaos of the game. It forces you to constantly adjust and adapt.
If you are going to Bingham, what are you most excited about?
This is the first time I've been able to play in the Bingham Cup, so I'm just excited about competing and hopefully helping my team advance deep into tournament.
Overall, how has rugby affected your life?
Rugby has taught me to deal productively with life's setbacks. When things go wrong in rugby, you don't have time to dwell on it or feel bad about yourself. You just fix it and move on, and I try to apply that to other aspects of my life as well.
